Welcome to the sixth season of On The Cross, a site devoted to Southampton FC. Here you will be able to follow Saints progress form the Premiership's perennial underdogs to a side looking to establish themselves in the top ten and push for a spot in Europe.


It's Southampton's firmly established status of plucky, but ultimately doomed, underdogs that endeared them to me as a child and  I’ve followed their progress ever since.

During the coming years I will be able to share my opinions with others as we suffer together through those quiet, desperate moments of a defending Saints side (you know the ones, where we play deeper and deeper until we’re clearing the damn thing off the line. Brrr.)
